A Cracking 3lb Loch Stack Brown Trout

A 1lb 4oz Artic Char From Loch na Thull

At the start of a new season what a great April for weather and fish.

We virtually had sunshine every day, bar a few.

The downside, there is always a downside, is very little rain has fallen so early Salmon and Seatrout have been at a premium.

As I write this the temperature has dropped with wind in the WNW and we have just had an hour or two of rain, probably not enough.

The total Brown Trout for the month entered in to the Scourie Hotel Fishing Log was 1145 this is certainly the best season for the last 12 years and probably the best ever.

The pick of the catch was as follows;
20" Trout to Kevin Primmer.
18" Trout to Neil Whitehead.
1lb 15oz Seatrout to Jenny St Johnston.

Many more Brown trout and Seatrout in the 1lb to 2lb 4oz range were caught and over 90% were returned.

A Total of 11 Seatrout were entered in the log.
