A drift towards Green Point on Loch Stack

As per the norm fishermen and women have been scarce during August, they have probably been sunning themselves in Spain and the West Indies.

The fishers who have come to Scourie and persevered have caught fish and enjoyed a mixed bag of weather.

The total Brown Trout caught was 201; the pick of the bunch being one of 4lb 10oz. to Don Montgomery and another of 2lb 8oz to Don Montgomery, both off Loch Stack.

Also off Stack were 3 Salmon to Michael Wycherely, best 6lb 8oz. A 6lb Salmon to Mr. Curry and a 6lb 11oz Salmon to Alan Maden.

62 Seatrout/Finnock were caught and returned, best fish being 3lb 8oz to Glen Wilson and fish of 2lb 8oz and 2lb 5oz to Don Montgomery.

On the few days that guests were able to fish the Polla, 5 Seatrout were caught between 2lb 2oz to 4lb 12oz. The potential of this small northern river is tremendous.

As I write the rain is pouring down and conditions are looking great for September.
