On average the month has been very dry with a drop of rain towards the end of the month which helped the fishing particularly on the local rivers. The lochs were also low and needed the fresh water. We seem to have very little wind, which is unusual for us, but then the weather pattern for this summer has been odd. Overall the fishing has held up quite well, although the migratory fish have been slow to come to the fly. Brown Trout for the month 978 with the best fish being one of 4lb to Steve Mickel on the 26th of the month, which was returned. 22 Sea Trout were caught and returned the best being 2.5lb to Mrs Neville off Stack. 8 Salmon were grassed most of them returned to conserve stock, the following were the successful anglers. 1 @ 4.5lb to Mrs Neville 1 @ 5.5lb to Andrew Robertson 1 @ 12lb to Mike Sturgeon 1 @ 8.5lb to Richard Sturgeon 1 @ 4.5lb to Richard Sturgeon 1 @ 3.5lb to Richard Sturgeon 1 @ 4lb to Mr Targett- Adams 1 @ 10lb to Mr Berry With more water about now we are expecting the fishing to improve.
