A Season Often Interrupted By Quite Severe Weather Like This Electrical Storm Over Loch Stack In September ! |
According to Alan Whitfield, factor to Westminster Estates, it has been the best Salmon season on Loch Stack since 1985. 89 Salmon were landed in total and clearly the total would have been greater had it not been for the severe weather often encountered. The total Trout catch for the season was 2,121 with the heaviest taken from Loch Stack (5 lbs) by Mr Currie in July. The biggest Trout from the hill lochs was one of 3lb 14oz taken by Robin Williams from Nan Uidh in May. A total of 149 Sea Trout/Finnock (immature Sea Trout) were taken and returned. Let us hope that the 1999 season will provide better weather and that the improved Sea Trout and Salmon catches will continue !
